Whether you’re on the road or at home, keeping an overhead tablet mount is a great hands-free solution to make the most of enjoying streaming services or following along with a recipe. Because we’re all about keeping our mounting components adjustable and modular, you have the ability to build a kit for your tablet that works best for you and your mounting location.
In today’s blog post, we’re showcasing two overhead tablet mount options: a drill-down option and a track option. While the drill-down base and track system both involve drilling into the mounting surface, the track system is a little more versatile. Not only are you able to slide out the RAM® Track Ball™ base along with the arm and device holder, leaving only the low-profile track, but you can also choose a track length that allows you to mount multiple track ball bases to it for additional devices.
Comparatively, the drill-down ball base only allows for one arm and device holder. While it’s common to have multiple ball bases to swap devices from location to location, the drill-down ball base is a great semi-permanent solution for devices that stay in one location. In the example above, we have a tablet mounted in a cabinet. When not in use, you can easily twist the knob on the arm to adjust the mount and tuck it away.
The mounting kit you choose comes down to personal preference and what makes the most sense for your desires mounting location. Shop our top drill-down and track solutions:
